Antiox Smoothie

Here's how I'll do this blog from now on: each day of the week will have a theme - Makeup Mondays, Trendy Tuesday, Wellness Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday (original, I know), and Foodie Friday. These are all various topics that interest me, and will hopefully interest anyone that might read this!

Today being Thursday, we'll start with something thirsty, and I'm going with something on the healthy side for this week. Who wouldn't want to super-charge their immune system with this antioxidant filled smoothie? If anyone else is lactose intolerant like me, rest assured, this smoothie is made with Greek yogurt, you'll be ok :)
I found this great recipe on Pinterest via skinnyms.com

Super Foods Smoothie

Yield: 3 Servings

Ingredients
  • 2 cups baby spinach loosely packed (organic)
  • 4 kale leaves, remove stems, loosely packed
  • 1 sm frozen banana, slice before freezing
  • 1 cup frozen berries, unsweetened
  • Fresh ginger root (1/2″ slice)
  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt, plain, 0% fat- I love Chobani and highly recommend it for the nutritional benefits
  • 1 cup chilled green tea (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup pure pomegranate juice
  • 1 cup crushed ice
Toss all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. It'll take a minute or so for all the ingredients to blend completely.
